Chap. 468.—An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the
county of Princess Anne to levy certain district school taxes, and to provide
for the collection and expenditure of the funds derived from such levies.

Approved March 26, 1928
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of the county of Princess Anne be, and it is
hereby, authorized and empowered to levy a tax on all the property
subject to local school taxation, in each of the several school districts
of the county of Princess Anne, or in any one or more of them, not
to exceed one dollar and a half on the one hundred dollars of the
assessed value of such property, in any one year, to be apportioned
and expended by the local school authorities of said county in estab-
lishing and maintaining the schools, in such districts, or district, as in
their judgment may be required for the public welfare. The levy
herein provided for shall be in lieu of, and not in addition to, the
district school levy now authorized by general law.
2. The said tax shall be collected and disbursed in the manner
provided by law.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force and effect from
and after the date of its passage.
