Chap. 437.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of an act approved March
24, 1924, which appears as chapter 477 on page 761 of the acts of the gen-
eral assembly of 1924, relating to the inspection of gasoline. {[H B 155]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion two of an act approved March twenty-fourth, nineteen hun-
dred and twenty-four, which appears as chapter four hundred and
seventy-seven, on page seven hundred and sixty-one of the acts of
the general assembly of nineteen hundred and twenty-four, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 2. All gasoline used, or intended to be used. or sold or
offered for sale or distribution in this State, for power purposes,
except as above provided, shall be subject to inspection and test for
the purpose of preventing adulteration, deception or fraud in the
sale thereof. All manufacturers, wholesalers, and jobbers, before
selling or offering for sale in this State any gasoline for the pur-
poses herein defined, shall file with the commissioner of agricul-
ture and immigration a statement that thev-desire to do business
in this State. and furnish the name or brand of the gasoline which
they desire to sell, with the nameand address of the manufacturer,
producer, or refiner, and that the gasoline will comply with the
requirements of this act. The said commissioner shall have power
at all times and at all places to have collected samples of any gaso-
line offered for sale in this State and have the same analvzed. The
inspection of such gasoline shall be under the direction of the board
of agriculture and immigration, which is authorized to make all
necessary rules and regulations for the inspection of such gasoline
and the enforcement of this act. ;
In making any inspections of gasoline under this act, the said
heard shall follow the “properties and tests” for motor gasoline of
the Federal specification board, as the same now are or may be
hereafter amended, and shall make such inspection in accordance
with the methods prescribed and established by the said board, pro-
viding that for cause after hearing, said specifications can be amend-
ed by the board of agriculture and immigration, providing that be-
fore such changes are effective ninety days notice shall be given in
writing to all companies reporting the sale of gasoline in this State.
The inspections provided for in this section shall be made at
least once in each six months, and as far as may be reasonably pos-
sible, hy inspectors employed by said board for the purpose of
inspecting fertilizers, seeds, weights and measures, et cetera.
