1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of each county and the council or other governing
body of each city and town or the governing body of any other political
subdivision of this State shall have authority to provide for the regis-
tration of and to register any coupon bonds issued by such county, city,
town or other political subdivision of this State.
2. All bonds issued by any political subdivision of this State, and
signed by an officer or officers in office at the time such bonds were
executed and duly authorized to sign the same, may be delivered to the
purchasers by their successors in office, if any, if none, then by any
officer designated by the governing body of such political subdivision,
and when so delivered they shall be as valid and binding as if they had
been delivered by the officers executing the same.
