1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That on and
after July first, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight the members of the
eral issues herein provided for, shall be used exclusively to pay off,
and redeem a like amount of street improvement, courthouse build-
ing and high school building bonds hereinbefore in paragraph one of
this act referred to, and which shall thereupon be destroyed.

8. It being necessary that immediate steps be taken for the purpose
of providing funds so that outstanding bonds of the city of Bristol
can be called for redemption as they severally mature and thus pro-
vide for a large saving in interest to the city of Bristol by such redemp-
tion, an emergency exists, and this act shall be in force from its
passage.
