Chap. 308.—An ACT for the protection of all fur-bearing animals in the county
of Halifax. [H B 369]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful at all times for any person to trap for, capture, or kill any
fur-bearing animal in the county of Halifax, other than minks or
weasels, except this act shall not apply to any person trapping, captur-
ing or killing said animals on his own land or to any tenant or renter
with the permission of the owner.
Z. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a
fine of not less than five dollars nor more than fifty dollars, or im-
prisoned in jail for not more than thirty days, or both, in the discretion
of the justice or the jury trying the case.
3. All acts or parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby re-
pealed, to the extent of such conflict.
