Chap. 298.—An ACT to authorize and empower the council of the town of
Bluefield, in the county of Tazewell, to borrow money and issue notes or
other certificates of indebtedness for the purpose of paying off and discharg-
ing an indebtedness against the municipal building owned by the said town
of Bluefield. [H B 315]

Whereas, by deed dated November twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred
and twenty-seven, and of record in the clerk’s office of Tazewell
county, Virginia, E. H. Harman and N. J. Harman, his wife, conveyed
to the town of Bluefield certain real estate, upon which is located the
municipal building of said town; and,
Whereas in said deed the said town of Bluefield assumed the pay-
ment of the sum of twelve thousand dollars due and owing upon said
building, and secured by deed of trust upon said real estate and build-
ings, which said sum of twelve thousand dollars will be due and pay-
able February first, nineteen hundred and twenty-nine; now, there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
council of the town of Bluefield be, and it is hereby, authorized and
empowered to borrow, at a rate of interest not to exceed six per
centum per annum, for the purpose of paying off and discharging the
said deed of trust against said municipal building, an amount of money
not in excess of twelve thousand dollars, for a period of at least one
year, provided said amount does not exceed the revenues of said town
of Bluefield for such year.
2. The council of said town shall have power to authorize the
mayor and treasurer of said town to issue notes or other certificates
of indebtedness of the said town, maturing not more than one year
after date, for the purpose of borrowing the aforesaid sum of twelve
thousand dollars.
