Chap. 283.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of
Dickenson to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $12,000.00 and to issue
bonds or certificates of indebtedness of the said county therefor, for the pur-
pose of constructing and repairing the bridges in Willis magisterial district
of said county; and to provide for the payment of the interest upon said
bonds and to create a sinking fund for their redemption at maturity.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of the county of Dickenson are hereby authorized
to borrow not exceeding twelve thousand dollars for and on behalf of
Willis magisterial district in said county, and to issue bonds or
certificates of indebtedness of the county therefor, the form of which
to be prescribed by the board; the said bonds or certificates of in-
debtedness to be issued in such denominations and to be payable at such
time or times, not exceeding five years from the date thereof, as the
said board may provide; they shall bear interest at not exceeding six
per centum per annum, and shall not be sold for less than par.
2. The bonds or certificates issued by the board of supervisors in
pursuance of this act shall be signed by the chairman and countersigned
by the clerk thereof. The proceeds derived from such bonds or certifi-
cates shall be used for the construction and repair of bridges in Willis
magisterial district.
3. After the issuance of the bonds or certificates provided for in
this act, the board of supervisors shall have authority to annually levy
a special tax upon all the property subject to local taxation for road
purposes in said district to pay the interest on said bonds and to
create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
4. An emergency existing this act shall be in force from its passage.
