Chap. 279.—An ACT for the relief of the estate of Timothy Rives; and to
authorize the payment from the treasury to his executors and executrix, the
sum of $2,020.00, for services rendered during the last four years of his term
of office as Commonwealth’s attorney of Prince George county. {H B 215]

Whereas at the July term, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven, of
the circuit court of Prince George county, and within the time allowed
by section twenty-one hundred and seventy-nine of the Code of Vir-
ginia, the judge of the circuit court of Prince George county, pursuant
to law, allowed to Timothy Rives, formerly Commonwealth’s attorney
of Prince George county, the sum of two thousand and twenty dollars,
on account of fees earned by him as Commonwealth’s attorney during
he years nineteen hundred and eighteen—nineteen hundred and
‘wenty-two, and payable out of the public treasury ; and,
Whereas at the time of such allowance, there were no funds in the
yublic treasury with which to pay the claim; and,
Whereas since the allowance of said claim, the said Timothy Rives
as departed this life, leaving as his executors, the Petersburg Saving
nd American Trust Company, R. T. Wilson and J. J. Temple, and
s executrix, Mattie W. Rives; and,
Whereas there is no method provided by which the said claim may
e€ paid except by an act of the general assembly of Virginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
omptroller be, and he 1s, hereby directed to issue his warrant on the
reasurer of Virginia, in favor of the said Petersburg Savings and
.merican Trust Company, R. T. Wilson and J. J. ‘Temple, executors,
nd Mattie W. Rives, executrix, of Timothy Rives, deceased, for the
am of two thousand and twenty dollars; in full payment of the herein-
bove mentioned claim against the Commonwealth, for the services
-ndered by the said Timothy Rives as Commonwealth’s attorney of
rince George county as aforesaid. ‘The said sum is hereby appropri-
ted for the said purpose, and shall be paid out of any monies in the
tate treasury not otherwise appropriated.
