1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Buckingham county be, and it is hereby, authorized
to levy an additional capitation tax, not exceeding one dollar per
annum, on every resident within the limits of the said county, who may
be subject to the levy and payment of the State capitation tax, as pro-
vided by law, the same to be applied in aid of the public schools of said
county, or for such other county purposes as the board shall determine.
