ginia, in relation to the effect of a negotiable instrument payable at a bank.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
fifty-six hundred and forty-nine of the Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Section 5649. Rule where instrument payable at bank—Where the
instrument is made payable at a bank it is equivalent to an order to the
bank to pay the same for the account of the principal debtor thereon
upon presentment at any time during banking hours on the day of
maturity of such instrument.
