Chap. 143.—An ACT for the protection of certain game in the county of Spot-

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to hunt, kill or capture in any manner, in
the county of Spotsylvania any wild turkey between January first and
November fifteenth, or any squirrels or rabbits, or any partridges,
pheasants or other game bird between February first and November
fifteenth, or any opossom or raccoon between March first and Novem-
ber fifteenth of each year.
2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this act shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall
be punished by a fine of not less than five nor more than twenty-five
dollars or imprisoned in jail not more than thirty days, or both, in
the discretion of the justice or jury trying the case.
