Chap. 573.—An ACT to regulate the parking of vehicles in the capitol square,
and to protect the grass therein. [S B 330]
Approved March 31, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That all
yarking in the capitol square of motor vehicles and animal-drawn ve-
ucles is hereby prohibited; provided, however, that this act shall not
ipply during regular or special sessions of the general assembly; and,
orovided, further, that during the recess of the general assembly, the
yovernor may, in his discretion, cause to be marked off certain por-
tions of the driveways in the capitol square and permit such vehicles
Lo be parked therein under such rules and regulations as he may pre-
scribe.
2%. It shall be unlawful for any person without the permission
of the governor to trespass upon any of the grass in the capitol square.
Any person violating this section shall be subject to a fine of five
dollars.
2. Any person parking any vehicle contrary to the provisions of
this act who shall refuse to remove his vehicle from the prohibited
zones upon being so requested by the superintendent of grounds and
buildings or a capitol policeman, shall be subject to a fine of not less
than five dollars nor more than twenty-five dollars for each offense.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
