bridge over the James river at Lynchburg, and running in a northeasterly
direction for a distance of one mile more or less in Amherst county.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
State highway commission be, and is hereby, authorized to relocate a
section of State highway route number eighteen beginning at or near
the east end of the bridge across the James river leading from Lynch-
burg and running in a northeasterly direction for a distance of one
mile more or less in Amherst county, over such a route as may be de-
termined by the State highway commission.
2. When, and if the relocation herein authorized is made, the
section of road so relocated shall be and become a part of the State
highway system, and when improved and opened to traffic, the section
now established and used between the points covered by the relocation
shall cease to be a part of the State highway system and become a
public road.
