Chap. 492.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2767 of the Code of Vir-
ginia, in relation to the board and city councils providing books, seals,
etcetera, for the clerks and treasurers, as amended by an act approved March
15, 1920. [S B 94]

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
twenty-seven hundred and sixty-seven of the Code of Virginia, as
amended by an act approved March fifteenth, nineteen hundred and
twenty, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 2767. Board to provide books, seals, etcetera, for clerks,
commissioners of the revenue and treasurer.—The board of super-
visors shall, at the expense of the county, and the city councils of the
cities shall at the expense of the city having a population of not more
than one hundred thousand inhabitants, according to the 1920 census,
provide suitable books and stationery in addition to supplies fur-
nished by the State for the use of the clerk of their board, the com-
missioner of the revenue, in counties having one such commissioner,
the county treasurer, the county clerk, and the clerk of the circuit
court, together with appropriate cases and other furniture, for the
safe and convenient keeping of all the books, documents, and papers
in the custody of each of said officers, and also official seals for each
of said officers, where the same are required by law, and also such other
office equipment and appliances, including typewriters and adding
“machines, as in their judgment may be reasonably necessary for the
proper conduct of such offices.
