Chap. 473.—An ACT to authorize the appointment of a commission to codify
the banking laws of this State fH B 303]
Approved March 24, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
governor of this State be, and he is hereby, authorized to appoint a
commission for the purpose of codifying the banking laws of this State,
such commission to be composed of two members from the Senate,
three from the house of delegates and three from bankers taken at
Jarge from the State. The last three shall be selected from a list of
not less than six to be nominated by the State bankers’ convention,
at its next annual meeting; provided, that it is the desire of such
association to make the nominations. Should it fail for any reason
to make nominations the governor is authorized to select bankers,
in his discretion.
2. Such commission shall be authorized to codify and collate the
existing banking laws and recommend such changes, improvements
and recommendations as they may deem right and proper, and the
result of their work shall be submitted to the general assembly of Vir-
ginia of nineteen hundred and twenty-eight; provided, however, that
such commission shall serve without pay and shall not be authorized
to incur any expenses against the State. .
