Chap. 464.—An ACT to provide for the appointment of an advisory committee
to the board of supervisors of the county of Greensville and to prescribe
the powers, duties, and compensation of the members of such advisory
committee. [H B 534]
Approved March 24, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
judge of the circuit court of the county of Greensville, upon the peti-
tion of not less than ten per centum of the qualified voters of each
magisterial district of the county, shall appoint two residents of the
county, qualified by character and ability, as an advisory committee
to the board of supervisors of the said county. The terms of service
of the members of such advisory committee shall be coincident with
the terms of the members of the board of supervisors, and their suc-
cessors shall be appointed quadriennially in like manner, upon the
petition of not less than ten per centum of the qualified voters of each
magisterial district of the county, as aforesaid, for a term coincident
with the terms of the members of the board of supervisors.
2. The members of the advisory committee shall attend all
meetings of the board of supervisors of Greensville county and shall
be permitted to express their views at such meetings on all matters
before the board and to take part in all discussions at such meetings.
But no member of such advisory committee shall vote on any ques-
tions before the board.
3. Each member of the advisory committee shall receive the same
compensation as a member of the board of supervisors of such county,
payable in the same manner.
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
