Chap. 446.—An ACT to make it a misdemeanor to use unlawfully on a motor
vehicle, or to have in possession on a motor vehicle with intent to use
unlawfully, any device for creating a smoke screen, and to fix the penalty

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
he, and is hereby made, a misdemeanor to use on a motor vehicle for
the purpose of preventing or escaping arrest or of hindering an officer
in following said motar vehicle, any device intended to create a smoke
screen around or behind such vehicle, or to have in possession a motor
vehicle equipped with such device with intent to so use the same.
2. The penalty for violation of this act shall be not less than five
dollars nor more than one hundred dollars, or by confinement in jail
for not more than thirty days, either or both, in the discretion of the
court or jury trying the case.
