Chap. 432.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to authorize
the board of supervisors of the county of Mathews to appoint each member
of the board of supervisors as supervisor of roads for his magisterial dis-
trict; to provide for their compensation, and to prescribe their duties and
powers, approved March 14, 1924. [H B 455]

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of
Mathews to appoint each member of the board of supervisors as
supervisor of roads for his magisterial district; to provide for their
compensation, and to prescribe their duties and powers, approved
March fourteenth, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
The board of supervisors of the county of Mathews may appoint,
at such compensation as they may fix, not exceeding six hundred
dollars per annum, the member of the board of supervisors from each
magisterial district of the county, as supervisors of roads for his
magisterial district; provided, however, that no such supervisor shall
be compelled to accept such appointment; and, provided, further,
that if any such supervisor does accept such appointment, the com-
pensation herein mentioned shall be in full for his compensation as
said road supervisor, and as a member of the board of supervisors,
except in the Piankitank magisterial district the compensation shall
not exceed three hundred dollars per annum, in addition to the regular
salary of such supervisor. Any road supervisor appointed under this
act shall have the same duties and exercise the same powers with re-
spect to his district as are provided by general law for county road
superintendents.
