Chap. 429.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Prince Edward
county to levy an additional district school tax of not exceeding fifty cents
on the one hundred dollars, to be used for interest and sinking fund require-
ments of loans and bond issues in such districts. [H B 481)

Approved March 24, 1926.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of the county of Prince Edward is hereby auth-
orized to levy an additional tax of not exceeding fifty cents on the one
hundred dollars of the assessed value of all the property subject to
local taxation for public school purposes in any school district in the
said county, the proceeds derived from such tax to be used to pay the
interest and sinking fund of any loans negotiated or bonds issued for
school purposes in such district, the said tax to be levied and collected
in accordance with the provisions of general law. The tax auth-
orized by this act is in lieu of and not in addition to the tax authorized
by section two of chapter :three hundred and ninety-eight of the acts
of assembly of nineteen hundred and twenty.

2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
