Chap. 417.—An ACT to authorize and empower the hoard of supervisors -of
Warren county to pro rate the dog license fund in payment of damages for
fowls and animals injured or killed by dogs. — [H B 321]

Whereas, in the county of Warren, the money to the credit of the
dog license fund has been insufficient to pay the claims for damages
for the loss of fowls and animals injured or killed by dogs; and
Whereas, the gross amount of such claims is now far in excess of
the money on hand to the credit of the dog license fund; now, there-
ore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Warren county, be, and it is hereby auth-
orized and empowered to prorate annually, upon such date as it may
determine, the funds derived from dog licenses, and pay such propor-
tion of each claim allowed for damages for fowls and animals injured
or killed by dogs, as the total amount of money to the credit of the
dog license fund bears to the total amount of claims allowed for that
year. Any surplus remaining after all such claims have been paid
shall be used as now provided by law.
