Chap. 401.—An ACT to permit the board of visitors of the College of William
and Mary to dispose of certain parcels of land. {[H B 483]
Approved March 24, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of visitors of the College of William and Mary is hereby auth-
orized, with the approval of the governor, to sell and make convey-
ance of so much of a certain tract of land known as the Jones Mill
Pond property, which land has recently been acquired by the board
of visitors, as is not needed for college purposes. It is understood,
however, that under no circumstances shall the said board dispose of
the mill pond or land immediately adjacent, but only that portion
which lies furthest away from the college property, and that the said
purchase price if a sale or sales should be made, shall be applied to
reducing the indebtedness which the said college incurred in the pur-
chase of this property.
2. The board of visitors of the College of William and Mary is
hereby authorized, subject to the approval of the governor, to dispose
of a tract of land lying on the Richmond road to the extreme west of
the college property, the number of acres not to exceed ten, it being
a portion of the Bright farm recently secured by the said board of
visitors, with the understanding that if such sale is made all moneys
received from said sale shall be applied to reducing the indebtedness
which the said college incurred in the purchase of this property.
