Chap. 392.—An ACT prescribing the time for catching shad in the waters of the
Commonwealth. [H B 211]
Approved March 24, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it
shall be unlawful for any person or persons to take or catch from any
of the waters of the Commonwealth any white shad, or have in their
possession any white shad so caught, between the twentieth day of
May and the fifteenth day of October of any year. Any person vio-
lating any of the provisions of this act shall be fined not less than
twenty-five nor more than one hundred dollars, or confined in jail
not less than ten days or more than six months.
2. This act shall also apply to the waters of the Potomac river.
3. This act shall be in force and take effect on March 1, 1927.
