Chap. 375.—An ACT to prohibit the catching of fish in certain waters of
Milford Haven, Hills Bay, and the Piankitank river by means of a haul
seine or drag net. {H B 126]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it
shall be unlawful for any person to catch fish with a haul seine or
drag net in the waters of Milford Haven, Hills Bay and Piankitank
river within the boundaries of a line extending from Cherry Point
on Gwinns Island to Burton’s Point, and from point of woods on
Gwinns Island to Rigby’s Beach east of Milford Haven. Any person
violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than ten
nor more than one hundred dollars, or be imprisoned in jail for a
period not exceeding thirty days or both.
2. Nothing in this act shall be construed to prevent the catching
of fish in the said waters by means of a gill net.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
