Chap. 371.—An ACT to authorize and require certain district school taxes to be
levied in the county of Isle of Wight, and to provide for the collection and
expenditure of the funds derived from such levies. [H B 379]
Approved March 24, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That each
school district in the county of Isle of Wight be, and it is hereby
authorized and required to raise sums by a tax on all property subject
to local school taxation of not to exceed two dollars, in the aggregate
on the one hundred dollars of the assessed value of such property ir
any one year, to be apportioned and expended by the local schoo
authorities of said county in establishing and maintaining the schools
in such districts, as in their judgment the public welfare may require
The said tax shall be in lieu of and not in addition to the distric
school tax authorized and required by general law. The board o
supervisors of the said county shall provide for the levy and collectio1
of the said tax.
