Chap. 334.—An ACT providing for the restoration to its former condition, as far
as possible, of that portion of the capitol building formerly constituting the
hall of the house of delegates and for the removal of the exhibits therein,
and authorizing the placing of tablets and paintings therein, and appropriating
the sum of five hundred dollars for the removal of said exhibits. [H B 240}

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the governor of Virginia be, and he is hereby, authorized to take
immediate steps to have restored to its former condition, as far as
possible, that portion of the Capitol building formerly occupied by
the house of delegates, and suitably to furnish the same. The
agricultural exhibits housed therein may be removed by the superin-
tendent of grounds and buildings under direction of the commissioner
of agriculture and immigration to the room in the Capitol formerly
used as court-room by the corporation commission, provided all the
changes provided for in this act shall be approved, or, may be changed
by the governor.
2. With the consent and approval of the governor and of the
art commission, suitable tablets and paintings commemorating the
historic events that have taken place in the said hall, may be placed
therein by the patriotic societies of the Commonwealth.
3. To pay the expenses of the removal of said exhibits, the sum
of five hundred dollars or as much thereof as may be necessary, is
hereby appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated.
