Chap. 328.—An ACT to amend chapter 407 of the acts of assembly of 1924, com-
monly known as the prohibition law, by adding thereto a new section to be
numbered 72-a, in relation to the issuance of licenses to partnerships engaged
in the retail drug business in the State. [H B 413]

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That chap-
ter four hundred and seven of the acts of assembly of nineteen hundred
and twenty-four, commonly known as the prohibition law, be, and
the same is hereby, amended by adding thereto a new section, to be
numbered seventy-two-a, which new section is as follows:
Section 72-a. Issue of license to partnership engaged in retail drug
business.—The court may also, in its discretion, issue a license as
provided in section seventy-two hereof, to a partnership or to an in-
dividual engaged in the retail drug business in this State under the
provisions of the said section; provided, the said partnership or indi-
vidual has a capital of not less than two thousand dollars fully paid;
and provided, further, that the registered pharmacist in charge of
the said drug business 1s in good standing and of good moral character,
that he is not of intemperate habits or addicted to the use of any nar-
cotic drug; that he is a person who will observe the laws controlling
the sale of ardent spirits and alcohol; and provided, further, that the
said registered pharmacist shall personally supervise the filling of all
prescriptions for the sale of ardent spirits.
