Chap. 315.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Arlington county
to establish and maintain, or cause to be established and maintained, public
sewers. [S B 331]
Approved March 24, 1926. .
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Arlington county shall have power to es-
tablish and maintain, or to cause to be established and maintained,
public sewers where the same shall be necessary to protect the public
health, and the owners of adjacent lands shall have the right to con-
nect their premises with such sewers, on such terms as the board of
supervisors shall prescribe.
2. Such board of supervisors shall have the power to contract
or co-operate with private persons, firms or corporations in the con-
struction or maintenance of such sewers, or both in construction and
maintenance thereof.
3. In order to establish any such sewers such board of super-
visors shall have the right to exercise the power of eminent domain,
and the proceedings shall conform, mutatis mutandis, to the pro-
visions of chapter one hundred and seventy-six of the Code of Vir-
ginia, as amended.
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
