Chap. 304.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3799 of the Code of Vir-
ginia of 1919. as amended by an act approved March 20, 1924. [S B 272]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section thirty-seven hundred and ninety-nine, of the Code of Virginia,
as amended by an act of the general assembly of Virginia, approved
March thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, be amended and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 3799. Who entitled to vote; vote for each share allowed.—
Unless it shall have been otherwise provided in the charter, certificate
of incorporation, or in the articles of association, or in an amendment
or by-law, each person in whose name stock shall stand upon the
books of any corporation at any date fixed by the by-laws, as prescribed
by section thirty-seven hundred and ninety-seven, shall be entitled
to one vote in person or by proxy for each share of stock appearing
in his or her name on said books, but no proxy, except proxies for
shares of stock in building and loan associations, shall be voted after
twelve months from the date of its execution.
