Resolved by the sénate, the house of delegates concurring (a
majority of the members elected to each house agreeing), That the
following amendment to the Constitution of Virginia be, and the same
is hereby, proposed and referred to the general assembly to be chosen
at the next general election of members of the house of delegates for
its concurrence, in conformity with the provisions of section one
hundred and ninety-six of the said Constitution, namelv:
Add to the Constitution of Virginia new section to be numbered
section one hundred and eighty-three-a, which new section shall read
as follows:
Section 183-a. The perpetual care, reserve or endowment fund of
any cemetery or public or private burying ground not conducted for
profit shall be exempt from taxation, State and local, unless otherwise
specifically provided by a statute enacted after January first, nineteen
hundred and thirty.
