Chap. 239.—An ACT to validate an issue of one hundred thousand dollars
($100,000.00) bonds of the town of Lexington, in the county of Rockbridge,
for the purpose of erecting additional school buildings and equipment there-
for, for the white and colored schools of said town, and providing for the
levy of taxes for the payment thereof. [H B 304]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That all
acts and proceedings of the mayor and rousell of the town of Lexing-
ton, Virginia, and of the officers, agents and voters of said town to
authorize the issuance of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00)
of bonds for the purpose of erecting additional school buildings for the
white and colored schools of said town, and for the equipment of said
buildings, including the election held in said town on the ninth day of
February, nineteen hundred and twenty-six, be, and the same are
hereby in all respects ratified, approved and confirmed, and said bonds
when sold and issued by said town, shall constitute valid and legally
binding obligations of the town of Lexington, and for the payment
thereof sufficient taxes shall annually be assessed, levied and collected
upon all of the taxable property in said town to provide for the pay-
ment of the interest on said bonds and the principal thereof as the
same become due and payable.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
