Chap. 226.—An ACT to grant to the land owners in Montgomery and Pulaski
counties, Virginia, below the mouth of Little river, abutting on and adjacent
to New river, the privilege of mining coal and other minerals under New
river, to the center thereof, subject to certain qualifications. [S B 210]
Approved March 23, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
owners of land in Montgomery and Pulaski counties, Virginia, below
the mouth of Little River, abutting on and adjacent to New River
and the owners of the coal and other minerals in and under such lands,
be, and they are hereby given the right and privilege of mining and
removing and of having mined and removed, the coal and other
minerals, under New River lying opposite their respective lands, to
the center of the stream. But nothing in this act shall be construed
to affect the vested rights of any citizen or citizens, natural or artificial.
