Chap. 16.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6188 of the Code of Virginia,
in relation to bail commissioners. [H B 15]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion sixty-one hundred and .-eighty-eight of the Code of Virginia, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 6188. Appointment of a bdil commissioner for counties
and certain cities.—The circuit court of each county or the judge there-
of in vacation, shall appoint one of the commissioners in chancery of
said court bail commissioners for. such county, and the corporation or
hustings court, or the judge thereof in vacation, of each city in which
there are no justices of the peace except police justices, civil justices,
civil and police justices or juvenile and domestic relations court jus-
tices, shall appoint one of the commissioners in chancery of said court
bail commissioners for such city. Bail commissioners for such cities
shall have the same powers and duties in respect to their cities as bail
commssioners for counties have in respect to their counties.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage.
