Chap. 153.—An ACT to authorize, empower and direct the board of supervisors
of Sussex county, to levy an additional tax not to exceed twenty cents on the
assessed valuation on all property subject to local taxation for public school
purposes, in Stony creek school district of said county, to pay the interest
and create a sinking fund to pay off the existing bonded indebtedness of said
district incurred for public school purposes. [S-B 207]

Whereas, the proceeds derived from the, existing levy of twenty-
five cents per hundred dollars assessed valuation in Stony creek school
district, Sussex county, is insufficient to pay the interest and create
a sinking fund to pay off the bonded indebtedness of said district
heretofore incurred for public school purposes; and
Whereas, additional funds must be provided with which to pay the
interest aforesaid; now, therefore -
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Sussex county be, and it is hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to levy an additional tax not to exceed
twenty cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation, on all the
property subject to local taxation for public school purposes in Stony
creek school district in the said county. The proceeds derived from
such tax, shall be used to pay the interest on the existing bonded in-
debtedness of the said district, heretofore incurred for public school
purposes, and to redeem the principal of such bonds at maturity.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage.
