Chap. 151.—An ACT to provide for the marking satisfied of judgments re-
covered by the Commonwealth, and for the releasing of recognizances by the
clerks of courts of record. [S B 205]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it
shall be the duty of the clerks of the several courts of record of this
State, upon the payment of any judgment in favor of the Common-
wealth or upon the release of any recognizance by court order, to
mark the same satisfied: upon the judgment lien docket at the place
said judgment or recognizance, as the case may be, is recorded upon
said lien docket; and in marking said recognizance satisfied it shall be
the duty of such clerk to refer by marginal reference to the court
order, if any, releasing or discharging said recognizance.
