Chap. 12.—An ACT to authorize the chairman of the highway commission to sell
and convey certain real estate conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia
by the Valley Turnpike Company under an act approved March 20, 1918.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
chairman of the highway commission be, and he is hereby, authorized
to sell at such price and upon such terms as he may deem proper a
certain lot of land with improvements thereon in Augusta county,
Virginia, about two and one-half miles north of Staunton, Virginia,
containing by survey five and eight hundred and sixty- -eight one-
thousandths acres, be it more or less, which said lot of land was con-
veyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Valley Turnpike Com-
pany under an act approved March twentieth, nineteen hundred and
eighteen, and being described in paragraph XIII of the deed from the
Valley Turnpike Company to the Commonwealth of Virginia, re-
corded in deed book two hundred and ten, page three hundred and
ninety-four, in the office of the clerk of the circuit court of Augusta
county, and that the chairman of the highway commission be, and he
is hereby, with the approval of the governor, authorized to execute,
acknowledge and deliver in the name of and on behalf of the Com-
monwealth of Virginia a deed conveying the said real estate with spec-
ial warranty to the purchaser thereof.
2. The funds received from such sale shall be paid into the treas-
ury of Virginia and expended by the chairman of the highway com-
mission for the benefit of the valley turnpike.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage.
