Chap. 116.—An ACT to allow the board of supervisors of Buchanan county
to proceed with the construction of roads, on the payment to the clerk of
the damages assessed by commissioners under section 1980, of chapter 84
of the Code, and to provide an emergency. [H B 169]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That in
any proceeding now pending or hereafter instituted in Buchanan
county, under chapter eighty-four of the Code, for the purpose of ac-
quiring a right of way for a county road in said county, after the re-
port of the commissioners ascertaining a just compensation, as pro-
vided for in section nineteen hundred and eighty of said chapter, has
been approved and confirmed by the board of supervisors of said
county, the construction of the road in question may be proceeded
with, on the payment to the clerk of the compensation awarded by
said commissioners, regardless of whether an appeal is taken.
2: An emergency existing, it is further enacted that this act shall
be in force from its passage.
