Chap. 113.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to prohibit
the taking of fish from the streams of Franklin county except with hook
and line, approved September 4, 1919, as amended by an act approved
March 19, 1920. [H B 96]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an
act entitled an act to prohibit the taking of fish from the streams of
Franklin county except with hook and line, approved September
fourth, nineteen hundred and nineteen, as amended by an act ap-
proved March nineteenth, nineteen hundred and twenty, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm or
corporation to take fish from the streams of Franklin county in any
manner, except with hook and line in the usual and accepted sense
of angling, between August the first and June the first; provided, how-
ever, that a seine with not less than one inch mesh and gigs or spears
may be used for taking fish from the streams in said county during
the months of June and July, provided, that all game fish, namely:
black bass, small mouth bass and small trout, if caught be returned
to the water with as little injury as possible. Any person violating
this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of
not less than five nor more than fifty dollars. This act shall not apply
to catching minnows.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage. :
