Chap. 106.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 629 of the Code of Vir-
ginia, in relation to school trustee electoral boards. [S B 133]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion six hundred and twenty-nine of the Code of Virginia, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Section 629. School trustee electoral board; compensation; du-
ties.—In each county there shall be a board, to be known as the school
trustee electoral board, which shall be composed of three resident
qualified voters, who are not county or State officers, to be appointed
by the judge of the circuit court on or within thirty days after the
first day of July, nineteen hundred and twenty-six, and every four
years thereafter. These resident qualified voters shall receive a
per diem of two-dollars each for each day actually employed, to be
paid out of the county school fund; but when acting as members of the
board of appeal, according to the provisions of section six hundred
and sixty-six, they shall receive two dollars per day, to be paid out
of the district fund of the district in which the service is rendered.
The said appointees shall qualify before the clerk of the said circuit
court, and shall serve for a term of four years from the first day of
August following their appointment. Any vacancy occurring within
the term of the said appointees shall be filled by the said circuit judge
within thirty days thereafter.
