Chap. 103.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Halifax county
{(o borrow money and to issue time warrants therefor. IS B 147]
Approved March 6, 1926.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
board of supervisors of Halifax county be, and it is hereby, authorized
and empowered to borrow a sum of money not exceeding in the ag-
gregate the sum of fifty-seven thousand dollars and to issue time
warrants therefor, the said warrants to be in such amounts and to be
payable at such time or times, not exceeding five years from the date
thereof, as the said board may prescribe, and to bear interest at not
exceeding six per centum per annum.
2. The said warrants shall be signed by the chairman of the
board of supervisors and countersigned by the clerk thereof. The
money derived from the issuance and sale of the said warrants shall
be used for the payment of time warrants of the said board of super-
visors now outstanding in the sum of fifty-seven thousand dollars.
3. The board of supervisors of the said county shall provide for
the payment of the said time warrants and interest thereon out of
that portion of the motor vehicle fuel tax which is paid to the county
of Halifax by the State of Virginia.
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its pas-
sage.
