Chap. 49.—An ACT to validate ratty, approve and confirm the transfer and con-
veyance from the county of Clarke to the Commonwealth of Virginia, here-
tofore made by resolutions of the board of supervisors of Clarke county, of
the bridge over the Shenandoah river at Castleman’s ferry in tae aed]
Approved February 26, 1924.
Whereas, The State highway commission proposed to take over for
maintenance as a part of the State highway system, on and after Jan-
uary first, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, the bridge over
the Shenandoah river at Castleman’s Ferry in Clarke county, upon
condition that the same be transferred and conveyed to the Common-
wealth of Virginia; and
Whereas, The said offer of the State highway commission, in the
opinion of the board of supervisors of Clarke county constituted a valu-
able and adequate consideration for the transfer and conveyance of the
said bridge, and it was deemed by said board for the best interest of the
county that the offer should be accepted; and
Whereas, The said board of supervisors did therefore accept the said
offer, and did by appropriate resolutions transfer and convey the said
bridge to the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the same has been taken
under control by the State highway commission for maintenance as a
part of the State highway system; therefore
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
transfer and conveyance from the county of Clarke to the Common-
wealth of Virginia of the bridge over the Shenandoah river at Castle-
man’s Ferry, in.Clarke county, as heretofore made by the resolutions
of the board of supervisors of the county of Clarke, be, and the same is
hereby ratified, validated, approved and confirmed, and the title to the
said bridge shall be thereby vested in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
