Chap. 479.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Franklin county to
pay to C. P. Guilliams a sum not exceeding five hundred dollars to compensate
him for certain losses. [HB 115]

Whereas, Emmett L. Guilliams, the infant son of C. P. Guilliams, of
Franklin county, was, in March, nineteen hundred and twenty-three,
seriously injured and a horse belonging to the said C. P. Guilliams was.
killed by the fall of a rotten tree which the said county had allowed to
remain standing on or near a public highway; now, therefore,
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of said county may in its discretion after considering all
the facts pay to the said C. P. Guilliams a sum not exceeding five hun-
dred dollars to reimburse him for pecuniary loss resulting from the said
occurrence. —
2. Anemergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
