Chap. 403.—An ACT for the protection ot black bass in the county of Frederick.

Approved March 20, 1924.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to catch or destroy, in the county of Fred-
erick, or have in his possession, any black bass, large or small mouth,
between the first day of January and the fifteenth day of June following
in any year, or to catch or destroy any of them at any time in any way
except by angling with hook and line; and any black bass, large or
small mouth, caught at any time in any way except by angling with
hook and line, shall be returned to the water immediately with as
little injury as possible; but it shall be lawful for any person to use a
net commonly known as a “landing net” to land any black bass hooked
by lawful angling with hook and line.
2. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act are hereby
repealed in so far as they are applicable to the county of Frederick,
but only to the extent of such inconsistency.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
