and collect extra fees for issuing motor vehicle number-plates pears, par-
ticular numbers requested by applicants. 278)
Approved March 20, 1924.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That hereafter
when any person applies to the secretary of the Commonwealth for a
motor vehicle license and requests number plates bearing particular

bearing the particular figures desired, it shall be the duty of the secre-
tary of the Commonwealth to charge and collect for such license and
number plates in every such case a fee of ten dollars in addition to the
regular fees; but nothing in this act shall be construed as intended to
prevent the licensee from withdrawing his request before the payment of
the extra fee and accepting number plates bearing such numbers as may
be offered by the secretary of the Commonwealth in lieu of the requested
figures, nor shall anything in this act be construed as intended to require
the secretary of the Commonwealth to furnish particular motor vehicle
number plates in compliance with any such request.
2. All fees received by the secretary of the Commonwealth under
this act shall be disposed of by him as the law directs other motor
vehicle license fees to be disposed of.
