Chap. 357.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Rus-
sell, upon motion of the member of the said board from any magisterial dis-
trict in said county, to levy, in addition to the maximum now authorized by
general law, a district road tax on all property in that magisterial district
subject to district taxation for road purposes. [H B 404]
Approved March 20, 1924.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of the county of Russell be, and it is hereby, authorized
and empowered, on motion of the member of the board of supervisors
from any magisterial district in said county, annually to levy in that
district, in addition to the maximum levies for district road purposes
now authorized by general law, a tax of not exceeding sixty cents on
every one hundred dollars of the assessed value of all property assessed
for taxation in such district and not embraced within the corporate
limits of any incorporated town in such district which maintains its
own streets, which shall be collected, accounted for and expended for
road purposes in such district as provided by existing law.
2. Anemergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
