1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
sixteen. hundred and ninety-two of the Code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Section 1692. Punishment for violation of the twenty preceding
sections.— Any person violating any of the provisions of the twenty pre-
ceding sections shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars nor more than
five hundred dollars for each offense, or confined in jail not less than
thirty days nor more than six months, or both.
