Chap. 214.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act authorizing the
board of supervisors of Patrick and Grayson counties, respectively, to levy a
~ capitation tax for school or other county purposes approved March 15, 1904,
as amended by acts approved February 17, 1920, and February 25, 1922. [S B 67]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act authorizing the board of supervisors of Patrick and
Girayson counties, respectively, to levy a capitation tax for school and
other county purposes, approved March fifteenth, nineteen hundred
and four, as amended by acts approved February seventeenth, nine-
teen hundred and twenty, and February twenty-fifth, nineteen hundred
and twenty-two, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
2. The board of supervisors of Grayson county are hereby author-
ized to levy an additional capitation tax, not exceeding one dollar per
annum, on every male resident of said county not less than twenty-one
years of age, except those pensioned by this State for military services,
which shall be applied one-half to the public free schools and the other
one-half for building and repairing the roads and bridges of said county.
3. An emergency is declared to exist and this act shall be in force
from its passage.
