Chap. 21.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to amend and
re-enact an act entitled an act for the protection of muskrat in Essex, Charles
City, James City, New Kent, York and Warwick counties, approved March
24, 1920; and requiring the game wardens to enforce the provisions of this
act, approved March 16, 1923. [H B 23)

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act for the
protection of muskrat in Essex, Charles City, James City, New Kent,
York and Warwick counties, approved March twenty-fourth, nineteen
hundred and twenty; and requiring the game wardens to enforce the
provisions of this act, approved March sixteenth, nineteen hundred and
twenty-three, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
2. It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt, trap, or kill muskrat
in the counties of Essex, Charles City, James City, New Kent, York and
Warwick, in each year between the first day of April and the fifteenth
day of December.
3. <Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be fined not less than five
nor more than fifty dollars.
4. It shall be the duty of the game wardens of this State to enforce
the provisions of this act, and for their services they shall receive the
same fees provided for in an act entitled an act to create the State de-
partment of game and inland fisheries, approved March eleventh, nine-
teen hundred and sixteen, and acts amendatory thereof.
5. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage
