Chap. 180.—An ACT to provide for the working of the roads of the county of
Louisa. {(H B 304)
Approved March 14, 1924.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That all roads
funds allocated to each of the several districts of the county of Louisa
shall be paid over to the supervisor of the district to which allocated,
and shall be deposited by him as supervisor in some solvent bank subject
to his check in his capacity as supervisor, and he shall have the right
to check thereon as such for the working of the roads in his district.
2. Each surervisor shall be ex-officio foreman of roads for his dis-
trict, should he elect to act as such, and in case he does not so elect he
shall employ a suitable foreman competent to work the roads to the
best advantage. Each supervisor shall receive for his road services com-
pensation at the rate of fifty cents per hour for the time actually en-
gaged in supervising the working of the roads. He shall keep an accu-
rate account of the time so employed and shall make a report to the
circuit court of the county at the end of each six months, the correctness
of which report he shall make affidavit to, and shall file with his report
cancelled checks for all payments out of the road fund, including his
own compensation; provided, that no supervisor shall receive for road
services more than four hundred dollars ($400.00) in any one year.
Each supervisor shall execute before the Judge of the circuit court of
the county a proper bond with security approved by the judge in such
penalty and with such condition as the court may prescribe, but such
penalty shall not be less than fifteen hundred dollars. Each semi-
annual report hereinabove required of such supervisor shall be forth-
with posted by him on the front door of the court-house of the county
and at some conspicuous place at each voting precinct in his district.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
