Chap. 177.—An ACT for the protection of foxes in the counties of Orange and
Madison. [H B 372)
Approved March 14, 1924.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to trap foxes in the counties of Orange and
Madison, except during the month of November in each year and it
shall be unlawful to shoot foxes in said counties at any time.
2. Those who trap foxes shall visit their traps once every day and
release any dog or dogs or other domestic animal or fowl that may have
been caught in said traps, and be liable for all damages done by traps
to dogs, domestic animals and fowl.
3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this act shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction fined not less
than ten nor more than fifty dollars for each offense.
