Chap. 169.—An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to establish Jonesville high
school district, in Lee county, Virginia, providing the mode of appointing
trustees, levying tax for district school purposes therein, and authorizing the
trustees to apply the money collected for district school purposes to the pay-
ment of teachers’ salaries, the purchasing, renting or building of school houses,
apparatus, furniture, appliances, etc., approved May 5, 19038; to abolish the
said district; to provide for the vesting of the title to property of the Jonesville
high school district, in the county school board of Lee county; and to author-
ize the said board to assume both the assets and liabilities of the Jonesville
high school district. [H B 188}
Approved March 14, 1924.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That an act
entitled an act to establish Jonesville high school district, in Lee county,
Virginia, providing the mode of appointing trustees, levying tax for
district school purposes therein, and authorizing the trustees to apply
the money collected for district school purposes to the payment of teach-
ers’ salaries, the purchasing, renting, or building of school houses, ap-
paratus, furniture, appliances, et cetera, approved May fifth, nineteen
hundred and three, be, and the same hereby is, repealed.
2. The Jonesville high school district in Lee county, established by
said act, is hereby abolished and the territory embraced therein is again
included in the Jonesville school district.
3. All moneys, bonds, funds and other property, real or personal,
corporeal or incorporeal, of the said Jonesville high school district shall,
by operation of law, be vested in the county school board of Lee county;
the said board shall assume all liabilities of the said Jonesville high
school district and shall be liable for the same.
4. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
